Modern Art Deco Kitchen

Hyde Park Kitchen

The kitchen in this Hyde Park, Cincinnati Victorian home was once a small kitchen and a separate breakfast room crammed into the back of this house. The entire layout of this home has changed, with the new kitchen open to a cozy family room, filled with original details from the home, like decorative windows and trim.

Modern Elegance

This kitchen nods to the glamor of the Art Deco era and makes it modern. The geometric backsplash, brass hardware and light fixtures give the space an opulent feel.

Open Shelving

The lack of upper cabinetry lets the geometric pattern of this backsplash dominate the kitchen. Wood shelves mounted directly over the black-framed window allow room for decorative display while still letting in plenty of light.

The Continent

This massive kitchen island has been nicknamed “The Continent.” A new gathering and dining space for the home, the island has storage on all four sides. The black and white palette and dramatic pendant lighting are further nods to a modern Art Deco style.

A huge thank you to Craig Russell and his crew for helping with a very last minute project at our house after we had moved to Chicago! After hiring Craig for a variety of other projects–both big and small–over the years, we knew without a doubt we could trust Craig and his crew to get the job done–completely stress-free!
